Tapa is a wooden bark from which cloth is made in the islands of the Pacific Ocean. The island people scrap the bark, dry it, soak it in water, dry it again, beat it, spread it out, and then join the pieces together to make different fabrics.

Tapa was used as a writing material with which people communicated with each other.
Tapa was used as a clothing material which was wrapped around people's bodies.
Tapas were sewn together to use as a housing material.
Tapa was used as a sailing material with which people used to make ship in order to traveled into the unknown world.
